Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)

Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) is a national university, established by the country's leading private and public sector corporations. The objective of the founders was to develop a centre of excellence, which could provide rigorous, academic, intellectual trainings and be a viable alternative to education at leading foreign universities.

 

The University has expanded rapidly since its inception in 1986 and presently has four schools; Suleman Dawood School of Business, Mushtaq Ahmed Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering and Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law.

 

Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), the first school established at LUMS, offers a Bachelor’s Programme in Accounting and Finance and Management Science, an MBA Programme, an Executive MBA and a PhD Management Programme. SDSB is a member of Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools (AAPBS) and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The school has research linkages with world renowned institutes like Harvard, UWO, IMD, Cambridge, Stanford, McGill and the Asian Institute of Management.

 

Mushtaq Ahmed Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS) offers a Bachelor’s Programme in Economics and Politics, Political Science, Anthropology and Sociology, English, History, and MSc Economics Programme.

 

Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE), initiated in 2008 became the first private research school for science and engineering in Pakistan with a vision to carry out world-class, multidisciplinary education and research. SBASSE offers Bachelor’s of Science Programme in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. In addition, MS programmes in Chemistery, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and PhD programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Physics are also offered.

 

Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL), the newest addition to LUMS portfolio, offers a 5-year B.A-LL.B undergraduate programme, which is accredited by the Pakistan Bar Council. The B.A-LL.B is the first as well as the core law degree offered by SAHSOL and other advanced degrees will be offered as the school evolves further.
