Despite various challenges facing the dairy value chain, Pakistan is one of the top five milk producing nations in the world. However, inept dairy and farm management practices continue to hinder the dairy sector from realizing its full potential. Inefficient dairy farm operations and lack of value addition in the dairy sector have constrained profitability and margins of dairy enterprises in Pakistan. The systemic gaps not only limit the local population’s access to affordable dairy products but also greatly hamper our global competitiveness and growth. Given the widespread malnutrition in Pakistan, the potential for dairy to contribute in alleviating the problem is immense.

Program on Dairy Management brings together key dairy sector stakeholders on a single platform to learn and share best practices in dairy farm management and develop a unified understanding and vision to unleash the sector’s potential. The program aims at building managerial competencies leading to operational efficiency, productivity enhancement, adoption of best practices, quality benchmarking and value addition to the currently commoditized dairy sector.

The Dairy Management program is sponsored by Tetra Pak Pakistan as a CSR initiative to bring about change and to help realize potential of the dairy sector and thereby contribute to the overall wellbeing of the community.

The program focuses on improving dairy farm management practices and builds on the broad understanding of managing agribusiness enterprises. Some of the focus areas are:
