Where is REDC located?
REDC is located on the campus of Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. The address is as follows:

What is Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC)?

The Rausing Executive Development Centre, a purpose-built facility for training and accommodation, was made possible by a generous contribution from the Rausing family of Sweden. It is used for both Open-Enrollment and Organization Focused programs of REDC as well as for an in-house training facility for multinationals and local corporations.

REDC programs prepare you for new challenges through close industry links, investment in national and international case studies and a rigorous academic focus. They give you an opportunity to enhance your managerial effectiveness and your company's competitiveness.

REDC is also a member of UNICON, The International University Consortium for Executive Education which is an organization of leading business schools worldwide with a serious commitment to executive education and management development.

How long it will take to process my application?
For most of our programs, the admissions committee begins reviewing applications three to four weeks prior to the program start date. Once the review process begins, applicants are notified via email regarding the status of their application. What are the enrollment requirements?
Each program description defines in detail who the program is targeted at and what a typical participant profile will be. These guidelines can be used while nominating participants. Nominating authorities are encouraged to nominate individuals with a record of accomplishment, demonstrated ability and promise. Programs are conducted in English and it is essential for participants to be proficient in English to participate. The sponsoring organization must ensure that:
* The participant is relieved from his/her job for the program duration.
* Assume all program payments and provide standard coverage for the expenses incurred during the program.
All applications are carefully reviewed by admissions committee for suitability. Thorough screening is done on the basis of which a participant is either selected or rejected, based on the admission criteria for that particular program.
When will I receive the confirmation letter?
Approximately one week prior to the start of the program, you will receive a confirmation packet, including confirmation letter, invoice, FAQs and a road map to LUMS.
How can I register for a program?
Each REDC program has its own set of enrollment criteria. There are two simple ways to apply:

Where are executive programs conducted at LUMS?
Housed within the University Campus is the Rausing Executive Development Centre, a purpose built facility for executive education. REDC open enrolment programs are also conducted off campus for which the venue is specifically stated as and when a program is announced. The venue of organization focused programs is decided mutually with the client.
How long is the usual program day?
REDC runs a very rigorous program. Our typical schedule runs from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. approximately. During the program, participants break for morning and afternoon tea as well as for lunch around noon. The evenings are often busy with various assignments, projects, presentations, readings etc.
What is an average program day like?
On average, you will spend aprox. six hours each day in the classroom - although schedules may vary. The rule of thumb is that each class or case study requires two hours advance preparation time that include individual preparation and group discussion.
Do I get any reading material before the start of the program?
Upon confirmation of application, your login account is created in SAKAI (LMS). LMS is a portal that functions as a dynamic learning tool through which you can access relevant reading material and program information prior to and after close of the program. Introductory package details inclusive of FAQs, course outline and speed reading tips are available over the portal prior to the program. Course related material is circulated at the start of the program.

Does REDC offer certificate programs and how do I qualify for a certificate?
At the close of all programs, a certification distribution ceremony is held for participants who have attended all the sessions.
Does REDC offer Organization Focused program?
We do offer tailor made programs specific to your organisation's needs. We have designed custom programs for a wide variety of organisations. We work with you to deliver a learning opportunity that truly fits your organisation and is relevant to your business strategies, challenges and opportunities.
What is the usual class size?
The class size varies from program to program. The average class size is between 30 - 40 executives.
What teaching methods are used?
The senior faculty of LUMS incorporates the latest research and business concepts into the classroom teaching through case studies, lectures, video/computer simulations, business games and small group activities. We offer an interactive learning experience for you to develop personal and professional strengths and lead your organization into an increasingly competitive environment.
When is the payment due?
Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice. Please note that after the receipt of the invoice, all policies related to cancellation, substitute and transfer apply. Also, ensure that the payment is made before the start of the program.
How do I pay?
Payment can be paid by check or banker's draft payable to "Lahore University of Management Sciences".
Can I pay by Credit Card?
We do accept payments through Credit Cards (VISA & MASTERCARD only). Our staff would be more than happy to guide you.
What is included in the program fee?
The program fee includes tuition costs, reading material, snacks and meals served during the program.
How far is LUMS from the Lahore airport?
Depending on traffic, it can take between 20 and 40 minutes to get to LUMS.
Is there any pick and drop service available?
We do not provide any pick and drop service to the participants. Participants are expected to make their own arrangements. For your convenience, LUMS road map is provided on the website.
Where will I stay and how much will it cost?
You will stay at Rausing Executive Development Centre at LUMS. For each program, the participants have been given special discounted residential package, which varies from program to program.
What does the residence package include?
The residence package given separately for each program includes accommodation, breakfast, and dinner for the duration of the program. However, any extra charges such as telephones, extra meals, laundry, etc. will be paid on departure.
If required, can I stay an additional night besides those included in the residence package?
Early check-ins and late check-outs are permitted for an additional fee. Please contact the Conference Planner for availability and charges if you plan on increasing the duration of your stay.
What are the bedrooms like?
The bedrooms are designed for single accommodation. Each bedroom has attached bathroom, and it is equipped with mini-bar, writing desk, direct dial NWD/ISD telephone and LED TV with cable facility. Hair dryer and iron are available on request. Visit our virtual tour to see the bedroom.
Do the bedrooms have computers?
Bedrooms do not have computers but they are Internet ready. You can hook-up your laptop in the rooms.
Are laundry services available?
Both laundry and dry cleaning services are available. However, participants may iron their clothes themselves. Irons are available on request.
What other facilities would be available during the program?
The other facilities include: Fax, Photocopy and Internet /Email. The charges for fax and photocopy are not included in the program fee and are expected to be cleared at reception at the time of check-out. There are no charges for accessing the Internet.
How can I get daily provisions while staying at REDC?
A super store, providing items of general provision, is located inside LUMS, which remains open from 10:30 a.m. until midnight. In addition, a post office and bank are located near the campus.
Am I allowed to bring my spouse along to stay at REDC?
You may bring your spouse with you at additional charges. We have a limited number of suites; therefore, please contact the Marketing Manager for its availability and charges.
Where will I have my meals?
Meals are served in self-service Executive Dining Hall near REDC. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.
Can I get dinner if I arrive late, the night before the program begins?
Packed meal can be arranged for you, if we are notified about your late arrival in advance.
What is a dress code for an executive program?
Participants are expected to wear casual or business casual dress.
Cancellation/Substitutes/Transfers and Refunds
If an executive is unable to attend a registered course, we will accept a substitute by/till 2 working days before the start of the program. Substitute candidates will be subject to the same selection process as the original candidate.

If you wish to cancel your name from a program, please inform us one week before the start of the program. Applicable processing fee will be dedected. There will be no refund for cancellations received after the withdrawal date or in case of no-show.

It is possible to transfer to another program within 2 years. The deposited fee will be carried forward after deducting the application processing fee. Please note that only one transfer is permitted. After 2 years, the deposited fee will be forfeited. Transfers should be notified one week before the start of the program.
Information about Lahore
Lahore is the capital city of the province of the Punjab, and the second most populated city in Pakistan. Lahore is also known as the Gardens of the Mughals or City of Gardens, after the significant rich heritage of the Mughal Empire. It is located near the river Ravi and the Indian border, Wagah.

Due to Lahore's rich history, the Mughal and colonial architecture has still been preserved in all its splendour. Mughal architecture such as, the Badshahi Mosque, Lahore Fort, Shalimar Gardens and the mausoleums of Jehangir and Nur Jehan are very popular tourist spots in the city. Various colonial buildings originally built by the British, such as the Lahore High Court, General Post Office and many older universities still retain their Mughal-Gothic style.
Weather
The climate of Lahore is very healthy and salubrious. Except for some days in summer Lahore is a pleasant place to live. There are two main seasons, namely the winter and the summer.

Generally, the summer begins in April and tapers off in September. In the peak of summer in June and July the temperature ranges from 38'C to 44'C. October-March are considered winter months although December and January are the coldest months where the temperature ranges from 05'C to 20'C.

The monsoons are at their peak during July and August and during these two months there is more than half of the annual rainfall. October and November are the driest months and average rainfall during these months is about one third of an inch only. There are winter rains during December - February, the average rainfall during these months being 3 inches.
NORMS @ LUMS
Following are some of the norms of the university:
* Please adhere to local/social norms related to dress, drugs, alcohol and personal behavior.
* All buildings on campus are non-smoking. You are requested to respect the non smoking laws of the University.
* Littering on campus is highly unacceptable.
* You are requested to wear your name tags when you move in and out of the University campus. Name tags help LUMS security personnel to identify the program participants.
* You are expected not engage in any activities that may result in damage to the University property.
* While browsing the Internet, please avoid downloading and accessing websites that could be considered objectionable.
Security
Individual are urged to take all possible steps to safeguard themselves and their property. Please remember to take proper precautions to protect your valuables. Never leave cash lying around in your bedroom, and remember to close all doors securely as you enter and leave buildings. Do not leave valuables in classroom or syndicate rooms in between classes or overnight. REDC/LUMS is not responsible for any loss of personal property.
